The United Kingdom is currently in need of 21,000 highly skilled workers, 9,000 of which is for Filipinos, according to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
At present, 1,200 of the 9,000 job openings for Filipinos have already been filled up.
The country is looking for linemen, foremen, nurses, and civil engineers that could earn as much as P130,000 a month.
Nurses, caregivers, cooks, programmers, and cashier personnel are also in demand in the UK.
Those with years of work experience and training will have a better chance of landing the job according the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
POEA Deputy Administrator Jocelyn Sanchez reminds applicants that the UK is a First World economy, so it has high standards for qualification in terms of education, experience, training and seminars.
The heavier the workload, the higher the salary, Sanchez added.
POEA also advises job applicants to beware of illegal recruiters.
