Non-Koreans are slowly creeping their way in the Korean pop industry. With K-pop idols and songs being popular all over the world, it’s no wonder that many non-Koreans, including Filipinos, dream of making it big in South Korea.
While it’s common for a K-Pop group to have some non-Korean members, it’s rare to see a K-Pop group with no Koreans at all.
The first all-Filipino K-Pop group called Tem5ive debuted in November 2016 and released their debut song titled “Miracle”.

The 5-member group comprised of Sarah. Rayna, Robie, Jyrah, and Katy, all born and raised in the Philippines, is currently signed under JW Entertainment.
“We were classmates in college and have been friends for eight years,” the group’s leader, Sarah, said in an Arirang Radio interview
The group has performed in many events around South Korea including the 2017 Korean Celebrity Basketball League.
Tem5ive are not the only Pinays making a name for themselves in the Korean music industry. In May, Kriesha Chu became the first Filipino solo artist to debut after her stint in K-Pop Star 6: The Last Chance in 2016.
Although she didn’t win the competition, the Cebu-born star finally debuted with the single “Trouble” under her agency, Urban Works Entertainment.
