Gilas Pilipinas head coach Yeng Guiao expressed his confidence on the return of their guard Kiefer Ravena to the team saying he usually adjusts quickly and get his game back.
Guiao, who’s also Ravena’s coach in NLEX, said the player has been in really good shape and worked very hard for the upcoming FIBA World Cup.
Ravena has been training with the national team since June. He also went with them to their training camp in Spain earlier this month.
Guiao said he has high confidence in Ravena considering that he has high basketball IQ and he usually gets his game back after playing for a few minutes in the game.
Ravena also couldn’t hide his excitement to play again.
He even posted a photo of him during a match of NLEX with the caption, “Loading complete. 100%. It’s Go Time.”
Ravena was earlier banned from playing in the FIBA games stemming from the use of banned substances. His suspension was officially lifted recently – August 24.
On Friday night, the Philippines won the first of its two tune-up games against the 36ers on Friday night with a score of 92-83.
