A woman in Bahrain was finally granted a divorce from the High Sharia Court in Bahrain after it was proven that her husband physically and emotionally abused her, The Daily Tribune News of Bahrain reported.
The woman alleged that the man treated her violently, even kicking her out of their house after assaulting her repeatedly. She then started to live in her father’s house, but the husband filed a case to demand for her to return home.
According to the woman’s lawyer, she suffered a lot during the course of the marriage—with an incidence that involved her being admitted to the hospital after her husband’s attack.
The woman said that the husband also spread a rumor about her being an adulterer and an alcoholic.
The defendant, however, said that they had a normal marriage with normal issues and arguments.
The court sided with woman and granted her a divorce from the husband.
