Man with autism opens own business to prove people of determination are hard workers too

If you can’t join them, then you can make a name on your own!

This was the story of a man with autism in North Smithfield, Rhode Island when he started his own business after he was turned down by many employers when he tried applying for a job.

Now, Michael Coyne is the owner of coffee shop Red, White & Brew which is making the world see the importance of hiring people with disabilities.

Michael said he wanted to send a message to others that people with disabilities are hard workers too.

According to Coyne’s mother Sheila, she suggested to his son to look for an alternative way to find employment.

That’s when Michael took matters in his own hands and enrolled in business classes through the state’s Developmental Disabilities Council.

It’s been less than two weeks since he opened it and Michael says he’s having fun with it.

His place has already become a haven for other families who have children with disabilities.
