A young Filipina gymnast has once again proven world-class talent that Filipinos have that starts at a young age as Haifa Niegas managed to bag 1st place at the Ball routine during the recently held 3rd International Emirates Cup.
Niegas takes home the gold for the ball routine while placing 3rd in freehand and 2nd place overall. She competed at category 2011 Level A, against representatives from neighboring countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan, and Czech Republic.
Haifa prepared for the for the competition by training her Rhythmic Gymnastics routine together with her Ukranian Coach Nadiia Bielavtseva at Abu Dhabi’s Little Stars Gymnastics Sports Club and now aims to compete at the Philippine national federation with the dream to participate at the SEA Games later this year.
“Word hard and never give up your favorite sport, with enough time, dedication, and training, you’ll achieve your goals,” said Haifa.
The third edition of the International Emirates Rhythmic Gymnastics Cup was organized by Natalia Gymnastics Club supported by the Dubai Sports Council and Russian Consulate General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
