Coco Martin expressed his condolences to the family of independent film star Kristofer King by visiting the departed actor’s wake on February 25 at Rizal Funeral Homes in Pasay City.
King’s widow Joan “Nikki” Alegre Reyes told a contributor of PEP.ph that Martin gave a wreath of flowers and even talked to her children when he went to the wake.
Martin and King have worked together in several indie films including Masahista (2005) and Serbis (2008). King was also given a role in Martin’s long-running primetime show “Ang Probinsyano”.
Martin also talked to Reyes about the expenses of the funeral and the former offered to pay for all of it.
Sige, ako na,’” she added.
Before Martin offered to pay for the funeral costs, it was reported King’s interment was delayed because of lack of financial support.
The cause and time of his death are still unclear but sources stated that the actor has been suffering from diabetes, as well as other diseases such as pneumonia, heartburn, at sciatica.
On Wednesday, February 27, Reyes said that she will finally be able to get her husband’s death certificate from the Adventist Medical Center in Pasay City.
King will be laid in his final resting place on March 3 at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City.
