Teen singer Darren Espanto explained his reaction to the tweet allegedly posted by JK Labajo which sparked an online word-war between the two of them.
It can be recalled that Espanto called out Labajo on Twitter a month ago after the latter allegedly called his fellow The Voice Kids alumnus “gay” on Twitter.

In his recent interview with PEP.ph, Espanto stood his ground and said that he’s sure it was Labajo who really posted the said tweet, even though the latter has already denied the accusations.
“Sa ipinapakita niyang attitude, personality for the past three years, I would say na siya yun,” Espanto said.
They have known each other since 2014 after they joined the first season of The Voice Kids in ABS-CBN.
He said that he has not talked to Labajo for years now so got enraged when he found out about the tweet. Espanto added that people questioning his sexuality has something that he has been experiencing for a long time and it is now time to stand up for himself.
“For me, it’s been many years na rin naman na hindi kami nag-uusap, alam niyo naman yun… Pero hindi ako nasaktan, parang nainis na lang, kasi ilang taon na din na hindi ako nagsasalita. I felt na lang to stand up for myself once and for all,” he said.
Espanto said in his previous tweet that he is mulling of seeking legal actions regarding the issue, and when asked if he will push through with his idea, the singer said, “Para sa akin, ayus-ayusin niya ang sarili niya, or else… We already have our own lawyers. Ituloy ko? It’s up to him.”
He also said that their management asked them to stop their online word-war. Nevertheless, he remains thankful for all the people who have supported him.
“We’re very thankful to our fans na parating nandiyan to support us, ipinaglalaban kami,” he said.
