The Christmas treat for Filipino moviegoers will be filled with mainstream-produced films as the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Selection Committee announces the first batch of the official entries on Friday.
Movies starring Vice Ganda, Coco Martin, and Vic Sotto will be screening in theaters nationwide this coming yuletide season.
Out of the 26 screenplays submitted, the committee chose the following films as official entries to the festival:
“Ang Panday” – an action-fantasy film top-billed and directed by Coco Martin;
“Almost is Not Enough” – a Dan Villegas romance drama starring Jennylyn Mercado and Jericho Rosales;
“The Revengers” – a horror-comedy film starring Vice Ganda, Daniel Padilla, and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach; directed by Bb. Joyce Bernal;
“Lova Traps #FamilyGoals” – a Tony Reyes film featuring the big screen reunion of Vic Sotto and Dawn Zulueta
In a press statement, the MMFF executive committee said the first batch of four entries were “thoroughly evaluated by the body’s selection panel.”
