The Ministry of Health and Family in India has confirmed Thursday its first case of coronavirus in their country.
The announcement said that the patient is a student in the southern state of Kerala and was studying at Wuhan university.
The patient was tested positive for the novel coronavirus and is currently in an isolated hospital.
No other details were given about the case.

The age and the gender of the patient has not been disclosed.
The novel coronavirus has infected more than 7,000 people and close to 200 people have died because of the disease.
