March 9 was a dark day for the Philippine entertainment industry due to the unexpected passing of the well-known comedian Chokoleit.
Celebrities and fans alike paid tribute to Chokoleit through social media, but his comedian friends, Pooh, K Brosas, Pokwang, and Vice Ganda, remembered him in an unusual yet amusing way.
During the final day of Chokoleit’s wake, the mentioned comedians delivered a eulogy in honor of Chokoleit before his remains get transferred to Davao.
The gloomy atmosphere immediately turned light and happy as the four of them told tales about Chokoleit that drew laughter from everyone at the venue.
They said that Chokoleit told them when he was still living that he doesn’t want people to cry or be sad when he dies. And this is a promise his friends decided to keep.
“Sa totoong buhay po wala kaming maalalang magandang sabihin kay Chokoleit. Ang hirap magpanggap na porket patay siya eh [maganda ang sasabihin namin],” Vice Ganda said in jest.
But as the eulogy went on, they talked about how their friendship with Chokoleit, who they referred to as Mahal na Reyna, developed over the years.
Aside from the four comedians, other celebrities and artists also paid tribute and offered songs to Chokoleit during the funeral service.
