A grade 10 student, who was wearing a headset while crossing the railways in Sampaloc, Manila was hit by the Philippine National Railways train on September 20.
John Genesis Munsayac Jr, Manuel Roxas High School student, was declared dead on the spot after he was dragged 150 meters away from the point of impact.
PNR General Manager Junn Magno said a northbound train sideswiped Munsayac at the Honrades crossing between Firmesa and Sobriedad Street in Barangay 544 Zone 54, Sampaloc.
Based on their initial reports, Munsayac was wearing a headset at that time when the train suddenly appeared.
Magno said they are currently investigating the incident.
