He lost his job overseas but Magno Gilbuela has found his way to earn at the comfort of his home using his creativity in turning discarded tires into pieces of furniture.
Gilbuela was forced to go back to his hometown Cebu after his company abroad closed down.
The idea of turning old tires into furnitures came to him when the tire of his motorcycle got flat.
“One time nagpapaayos ako ng motor ko na na-flat ang gulong. Wala akong maupuan doon. Nakakita ako ng gulong at doon ko naramdamang maganda pala itong pang-upuan kasi malambot,” GMA News quotes Gilbuela.
In three months, he turned this realization into a profitable business he named “MagzWheel Furniture.”
He started selling furniture sets like chairs and tables for P3,000. Eventually, he expanded “MagzWheel Furniture” to belts, slippers, and vases made from different waste products.
Not only that it is a profitable business, Gilbuela also said it’s his way of helping the environment.
“Ang mga klase ng waste materials pwedeng magawan ng paraan para makagawa ng isang bagay na pwedeng ibenta at makakatulong din sa environment,” he said.
