The family of actor Mico Palanca has confirmed his death and asked that they would be given a time to grieve in private.
His sister, Erika Hocson, posted the family’s official statement on her Instagram stories.
“We are extremely saddened and heartbroken by the sudden passing of our beloved brother Mico Palanca. The whole family is grateful for the incredible outpour of love and support that has been coming in today,” Hocson said.
“As of now, we would like to respectfully request for privacy as we go through this very difficult time. Again, we appreciate all the love and support – thank you so much. – Pita, Lisa, Bernrd, Erika, Martin and Santi,” the statement read.
News of Mico’s passing was first announced via the Film Academy of the Philippines.
Host Boy Abunda also confirmed it during his closing spiels on the episode of “Tonight with Boy Abunda” on Monday evening.
Erika already posted signs that something was not okay when she just posted a blank and all black post on her IG stories.
Hours after that, she posted the statement from their family.
Erika also posted photos of her and brother Mico in black and white.
“I love you. Didn’t say it enough. But I did. I do. So much. I’m so glad I got to tell you how much I looked up to you growing up. Thank you, Kuya,” she wrote on her post.
