His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, has announced that there will be no increase in school fees for all private schools in Dubai.
In his official Twitter account, the Dubai Crown Prince said the Dubai Executive Council will not be hiking tuition fees in private schools for academic year 2018 to 2019.
“During the meeting of the Executive Council, we decided not to increase school fees for all private schools in Dubai for the 2018-2019 academic year, with the aim of relieving the financial burdens on parents and to put this decision into effect immediately,” H.H. Sheikh Hamdan said in his tweet.
This comes on the heels of a report from the Boston Consulting Group (BGC) released last month which said that the UAE’s education market is seen to grow to $7.1 billion, or around Dhs26 billion, by 2023.
The BGC’s Where to Invest Now in the GCC Private Education report also revealed that private school enrollment is anticipated to increase from 56 to 66 percent in the next five years.
