A Filipina domestic helper received an unexpected dash of magic, not from a fairy godmother but from her kind employers here in Dubai.
April Rose Marcelino Gatin, from Pakiad Oton, Iloilo City, was gifted by her Irish employers in Dubai, Henry and Elaine Horan, with a multi-million peso house in her hometown.
The 33-year-old Filipina told The Filipino Times Online that the fund that enabled her to purchase a lot and construct a house little by little came from her generous employers, who give her extra money on top of her monthly salary. And after five hopeful years, the house and lot she’s been wanting to give her family officially became her property.
What’s more? The Irish couple secured April’s future by making her equipped with financial literacy and giving her insurance policies.
Recently, she also acquired her driver’s license in Dubai thanks to her employers. And soon, she’ll be driving her own car.
