Defending champion Toronto stunned the basketball world as it made what has been described as “the greatest comeback in club history,” coming from behind to wipe out a 30-point deficit to beat visiting Dallas 110-107 on Sunday, December 22.
Kyle Lowry did 32 of which 20 was in the 4th quarter and also passed off 10 assists while Chris Boucher marked a career-high 21 points to spark the Raptors’ comeback victory.
Dallas was away with a comfortable lead at 85-55 late in the 3rd quarter, when the Raptors clawed back in the last 15 minutes and made the first fightback from 30-down to win since Sacramento rallied past Chicago from 35 points behind some 10 years ago, Agence France Presse reported.
Toronto’s fifth consecutive victory ended a seven-game road win streak for the Mavericks, who were without guard Luka Doncic for the fourth straight game due to a right ankle sprain, the report said.
AFP quoted Dallas coach Rick Carlisle as saying it was a “very disappointing loss.”
“We lost our aggression. They did a good job with the trap but that’s on me.”
