Athletes competing for the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games are in for a feast as there is a 24/7 buffet waiting for them at the designated dining hall at the Athletes Village in New Clark City.
All these are halal-certified too.
In a report by ABS-CBN News, catering coordinator Datu Shaiffudin Kiram, who was quoted in a similar report, said halal-certified food is very essential especially for athletes coming from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Brunei.
A wide array of food fit for the taste buds of Western and Asian culture are being served.
Executive chef Bruce Lim said they are preparing the best food and to ensure that athletes are comfortable and can eat 24 hours a day.
There is also a food safety team that ensures that the food served is properly prepared and nutritious.
An athlete from Cambodia named Sim Chantha said she was surprised and happy with the location of the Athletes Village. She also said the food is “very enough”.
