The Philippines today lost its second Southeast Asian Games 2-1 at the men’s football match with Myanmar at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The defeat could greatly affect the Philippine Azkal’s chances to advance to the semi- finals, observers said.
Azkals managed to draw its fight against Cambodia on Monday in the Under-22 category.
Myanmar’s Win Naing Tun in the 79th minute, managed to slipped past Amani Aguinaldo inside the box giving his country the lead.
The Azkals had many attempt to score but to no avail. The Filipino team was left with one point in Group A.
The Azkals also dominated the second half of the game but failed to score another goal.
They will be competing next against Malaysia for the runner-up slot.
