Dubai will have a new flyover with pillars resembling tree trunks.
Under a memorandum of understanding between Brand Dubai and Nakheel, the two bodies will build the bridge leading to the East Crescent on Palm Jumeirah.
The Zabeel Saray flyover will be uniquely decorated by making its pillars look like tree trunks. The underside of the bridge will feature art installation depicting dense foliage.
The two organizations are doing the art projects to enhance the artistic and cultural environment of Dubai, according to Maltha Buhumaid, director of Brand Dubai.
The project is a #DubaiSpeakstoYou initiative, which aims to showcase Dubai’s “rich diversity and pioneering spirit” and transform the city into an open-air museum.
The initiative was formed under the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
