The camp of leading presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos is expecting a call from United States President Joe Biden following Marcos’ landslide win in the May 9 polls.
“Our relationship with the United States will be better and as we speak I think I am at liberty to say we are expecting a call from the president of the United States to president-elect Bongbong…We are expecting his call,” Lawyer and spokesperson Vic Rodriguez said in an interview with ABS-CBN.

Rodriguez added that Marcos’ foreign policy will be inclusive.
“We will not be exclusive to anyone. The interest of the Filipino people and the national interest comes first and it will never be compromised especially our territorial integrity,” he said.
In an earlier tweet, U.S. State Department Antony Blinken also congratulated Marcos for winning the elections.

“As friends, partners and allies, we will continue to collaborate closely with the Philippines to promote respect for human rights and to advance a free and open, connected, prosperous, secure and resilient Indo-Pacific region,” Blinken said.
In a press briefing on Wednesday, Rodriguez refused to answer a question on how Marcos will become the country’s chief diplomat amid pending contempt order from a U.S. court.
