Three men are currently in trial in Dubai for allegedly attempting to kill a man over a parking spot dispute, Khaleej Times reported.
According to Dubai Court of First Instance, the men reportedly stabbed the complainant—a 37-year-old Asian—and hit him with a rock and fire extinguisher.
The victim said he was with his brother at a car park in Al Nakheel when disputes over the parking space occurred.
“It was around 11.30pm. The three defendants then came and, all of a sudden, began assaulting me. They hit me with a concrete rock on the head and then with a fire extinguisher. They kept assaulting me even after I was knocked out. I felt a sharp tool being stabbed in my chest while one of them sat on me,” Khaleej Times quoted him as saying.
The complainant said the men stabbed and hit him repeatedly. According to the police officer on duty, he was “badly injured” when the ambulance took him and that the weapon used to stab him was still in his abdomen.
The Asian added that even after he was discharged, he still could not breathe and walk properly.
The policeman noted that the men immediately admitted to the assault charge, and explained it was due to the parking slot.
According to a forensic report, the man sustained permanent damage to his left lung due to the assault.
The trial for the three defendants will resume on October 19.
