Saudi Arabia noted that around eight factories in the Kingdom are helping the fight against coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by producing almost 4 million face masks in a week.
In a report by Saudi Gazette, the Saudi Food & Drug Authority said these factories offer 3.7 million face masks to protect citizens and residents from the disease.
In addition, about 49 factories produce 1.5 million liters of sanitizers.

The move to produce more protective equipment locally is in line with the government’s commitment to ensure there is an ample supply in the Kingdom, following a worldwide shortage of essential gear to fight COVID-19—such as sanitizers, face masks, and ventilators.
Since the dawn of the pandemic, Saudi had stopped exportation of medical devices to ensure that hospitals in the Kingdom are equipped to handle a large number of patients.
