The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, in partnership with the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, hosted a hajj night for Filipino-Muslim pilgrims who attended this year’s Hajj.
The hajj night was held last August 15, and was conducted in cooperation with the other attached agencies of the Consulate.
Consul General Ed Badajos congratulated the Filipino pilgrims for successfully completing the Hajj. He also commended the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF), headed by Saidamen B. Pangarungan, for their handling of the Filipino pilgrims this season—describing it as a “colossal logistics and management challenge.”
Pangarunan, in his message at the hajj night, highlighted the reforms NCMF did to provide more affordable pilgrim fees as well as comfortable accommodations to the Filipino-Muslim Hajj pilgrims—which totalled to a number of 7,142.
Around 150 guests composed of Hajj pilgrims, distinguished religious Filipino-Muslims, members of the Filipino community in Jeddah, and personnel from the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, and the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah and its attached agencies attended this year’s Hajj Night.
