Among these Filipino frontliners is Red Cloud Capuyan, an Abu Dhabi-based nurse who has been working in the country for the past five years. He is among the nurses who visit homes to conduct free COVID-19 tests for Abu Dhabi residents, particularly the vulnerable sectors.

“We started the home visit swabbing mission last June 15, 2020, in Abu Dhabi as part of the government’s campaign to fight off COVID 19. Areas covered are Baniyas, Shakhbout and currently in Shamkhah. Thru our home visits, residents are offered free COVID-19 tests to ensure that communities have access to screening,” said Capuyan.

“I am proud to say that I am part of this team in leading the home swabbing mission. As a Filipino and cordilleran nurse in this country. Capuyan urges fellow Filipinos to break the chain of transmission by getting themselves tested if and when their area is covered by the free residential COVID-19 swab tests.

“The most effective way to prevent COVID-19 infection is breaking the chain of transmission. For us to do that, we must undergo a swabbing test. We encourage all our fellow Filipinos to take this opportunity by submitting yourself through a swab test. We cannot stop this pandemic if we do not know who is infected. Let us give our full support to the UAE government as we eliminate this virus. We are all in this together and we can only succeed together,” said Capuyan.
