LOOK: Couple shares story of how they were able to save up almost Php500,000

A Facebook user shared their story of her boyfriend with Facebook page Peso Sense.

She shared how she was able to challenge her boyfriend to save up.

When she met him three years ago, her boyfriend only has P8,000 in his savings account.

She was surprised that he was only able to save such amount as he was earning P28,000 a month.

“Take note, hindi siya nagbibigay sa family niya. So solo niya lahat ng swedlo niya,” the unnamed Facebook user shared.

The man was surprised to find out that his girlfriend had P80,000 in her savings account.

Both of them earn the same salary every month.

His girlfriend sends P12,000 as monthly support to her parents and even sends her two siblings to college.

It was at this time when the man decided to save up.

At first, they had two separate savings until they decided to have a joint account.

They also sold stuff so they could add it up to their savings.

After two years and six months of saving up, they already had P459,104.24 as seen in their passbook.

Plus, they also have a life insurance and paying monthly mortgage for their house.

Last week, her boyfriend was able to purchase a brand new iPhone 11.

The lesson they want to share to netizens with their savings challenge?

“Syempre aside sa sweldo namin nag business kami nag bebenta kami ng kung ano ano sa office at kung anong uso. Kaya naniniwala tlga ako na nasa diskarte lang talaga. And hopefully next year maka put up kami ng business na stable,” the Facebook user wrote on her caption.

Their story posted yesterday on Facebook has gained more than 20,000 reactions and was shared 5,000 times.

One Facebook user said they also share a similar story with the couple.

Cheeny Lyn Suarez wrote on the comment section that because of their savings, they were able to spend for their wedding, bought a house and lot and now still continues to save up for their future together with her husband.
