Olympian Hidilyn Diaz is appealing for financial support for her upcoming quest in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
In a post on her Instagram Stories, Monday, the athlete asked for help from private companies.
“Is it okay to ask sponsorship sa mga private companies towards Tokyo 2020? Hirap na hirap na ko, I need financial support,” the 28 year-old Diaz said.
Diaz also admitted that she’s taking this step to ensure that she can compete and win the country’s elusive gold medal.
“Nahihiya kasi ako, pero try ko kapalan mukha ko para sa minimithi kong pangarap para sa ating bansa na maiuwi ang Gold Medal mula sa Olympics,” she added.
Diaz posted a number of her training videos on her Instagram accounts.
She won a silver medal in the 2016 Olympics in Brazil. Diaz also won the gold medal in the 2018 Asian Games.
