WATCH: Student dedicates spoken word poetry to OFW parents

Iva Claire Milan Jamelarin expressed her love and appreciation to all overseas Filipino workers, like her own mother, through a tear-jerking spoken word poetry.

Jamelarin stood in front of her classmates as she delivered her masterpiece that reflects her own experiences as a child of an OFW who go to distant place to work for the sake of their families, as reported by KAMI.

As she tries her best to hold back the tears, the young student emphasized how she felt when her own mother left them at the age of three to go to another country and work there.

Through her spoken poetry titled “Nay, ‘Yan ay Pangako”, Jamelarin said that she promised to do her best to finish her studies and achieve all of her mother’s dreams for her.

While she is delivering her spoken poetry, it can be heard that her classmates got touched by her words and many of them shed a tear as Jamelarin delivers her personal message to her mother.

As soon as the video went viral, Jamelarin’s sister Ivee Jean posted a comment on Facebook which reads, “Thank you po sa mga naka-appreciate sa kapatid ko. At thank you po sa nanay namin na mas pinili na malayo sa ‘min mapabuti lang kami. Sa mga nanay at tatay na OFW, thank you po at proud po kaming mga anak niyo sa inyo”.

The video ended with her classmates giving her a round of applause.
