‘Mindanao’ wins Best Picture, top acting honors at 2019 MMFF Awards Night

Winning this year’s Best Picture and 10 more major awards, the film ‘Mindanao’ was hailed as the big winner of the recently held Metro Manila Film Festival Awards Night.

Brillante Mendoza also bagged the Best Director award for the film. Mendoza said that it’s his way of letting the stories of people from Mindanao be heard.

After her victory in the prestigious Cairo Egypt Film Awards, Judy Ann Santos continued her winning streak in the country as this year’s Best Actress for Mindanao.

Her co-actor Allen Dizon, who played the role of her husband and soldier in the film managed to win the Best Actor Award.

Write About Love’ came in second with the most number of awards. Horror film ‘Sunod’ ranked in third in the Best Picture Category.
