Gay icon and celebrity hairstylist Mother Ricky Reyes stood firm on his belief that transgender women should not use female restroom.
Reyes said that it is “ridiculous” for a gay person to use the opposite sex’s restroom.
“Alam mo, kalokohan para sa isang bading na pumasok sa banyo ng pambabae. There’s so many friendly toilets for all. Bakit ka pupunta sa general? Punta ka sa Jollibee, sa Max, may unisex bathroom, e di doon ka pumasok kung saan hindi ka mao-ostricize,” GMA News quoted her as saying.
Reyes was reacting on the incident involving transgender woman Gretchen Diez, who was prevented from using a female restroom.
“Lalaki naman kami eh. Bakit kailangan kong magbistida at kumalat-kalat sa kalye?” he said.
“Buhay ng bakla ay buhay ng ilusyon, buhay ng make-believe. Sometimes kailangan mong batukan ang mga bakla sa katotohan ng buhay,” he added.
Reyes said that Filipinos should focus more on important issues.
“Ang dami na nating problema. May droga, may corruption, maraming nagugutom, maraming hindi nag-aaral. Bakit hindi ‘yun asikasuhin? Bakit ang pag-ihi ng bakla ang kailangan natin asikasuhin?”he said.
