Senatorial candidate Christopher “Bong” Go apologized to television and social media personality Kris Aquino on Wednesday after the latter got offended with one of his campaign spiels.
It all started when Aquino called out Go for making fun of her failed relationship with actor Philip Salvador.
“Ma’am Kris Aquino, paumanhin po. Kung may nasaktan, nagpapatawa lang kami. Hindi na namin gagamitin ang joke na ‘yun,” Go said during a campaign sortie in Manila.
Go previously said in jest during another campaign sortie of PDP-LABAN that Salvador, who is nicknamed Ipe, had “fooled” Aquino.
Aquino then took to Instagram to call out Go.
“Wala po akong atraso sa inyo SAP BONG GO. I have only had good words for you pero sana sa paglilingkod nyo para sa mga Pilipino bilang Senador (i know you are a SURE WINNER), sana priority nyo rin po ang mga kababaihan,” posted Aquino, who shared the video of the incident on Instagram.
But what about the women without financial security & family?” added Aquino.
She also directly responded to the joke by saying: “Sorry ha- minalas- nandun kasi yung “NALOKO”… nakadapa na po, nung pinanuod ulit at narinig yung tawanan ng audience, isa pang sampal sa taong umaamin, matatalo sya.”
Aquino and Salvador became a couple in the mid-1990’s. They have a son, Josh.
On the other hand, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte assured that Go will no longer use the same joke after Aquino said she was offended by it.
“I’m sure they will listen because they are the kind of people who are aware kung ano ang kailangan nilang gawin,” the Presidential daughter said.
