Comedian “Bentong” succumbs to heart attack at 55

Veteran comedian Domingo Vusotros Brotamante Jr., who is more popularly known as “Bentong”, passed away on February 9 at the age of 55.

His death was confirmed by his son-in-law Arvin Vincent Anierdes through a Facebook post.

“Rest in Peace Papa Bentong hindi ko akalain na heto na ang ating huling pagsasama natin alam ko kasama mo na ang Panginoon ngayon kaya panatag narin ang loob ko,” Anierdes said.

“Maraming maraming salamat Papa sa pag-aaruga sa Pamilya naten. Maraming salamat din dahil napakarami mo napasayang tao. Mahal na mahal ka namin Pa,” he added.

Bentong’s widow Cecille Bernal told reporters that the comedian was rushed to the Fairview General Hospital at around 5:00 AM. He eventually succumbed to a heart attack.

Bentong became a household name in the Philippines after he appeared on several comedy shows and movies in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

His funeral will be held at the St. Peter Memorial Chapel.
