Coco Martin posts message about revenge amid his show’s rift with PNP, DILG

Kapamilya actor Coco Martin took to Instagram to post a cryptic message about revenge amid the issue of his show “Ang Probinsyano” with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

It can be recalled that the PNP cried foul over the bad portrayal of cops in his action drama series, “Ang Probinsyano”.

“Things are quite unusual here and it gives us a bad impression actually. It’s a bit unfair to PNP when you portray that kind of (bad) activity that doesn’t really happen in our organization,” PNP Chief, Director General Oscar Albayalde, previously told reporters.

Moreover, they withdrew support towards the hit television show by banning the producers of the show from using the police force’s assets including patrol cars, firearms, personnel, and venues.

On the other hand, DILG Assistant Secretary Jonathan Malaya said that the department is also considering filing charges against the producers of the show.

“We will seriously consider filing legal action and imposing sanctions including the prohibition on the use of PNP uniforms, properties and even using the acronym of the organization (PNP) if “Ang Probinsyano” continues with their grossly unfair and inaccurate portrayal of our police force,” Malaya said.

While the government agencies’ complaints towards the show remain unresolved, Martin posted a photo on Instagram on November 20 which bears a meaningful quote.

“Sometimes the best revenge is to smile, move on, and do nothing,” the photo reads.

He added a peace sign and a laughing emoji on the captions.

Many of his followers speculated that it was his reaction to the complaints of PNP and DILG but the actor did not confirm such claims.
