Actor Paul Salas broke his silence regarding his breakup with actress Barbie Imperial but refused to talk about the physical abuse claims against him.
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph, Salas poked fun at his previous relationship with Imperial saying that he isn’t even sure if they really became an official couple.
“Parang hindi naman namin inamin na kami!” Salas said.
However, he said that Imperial was “special” for him and that he’s happy with how her showbiz career is going.
“Naging special si Barbie sa puso ko so, ayun, di lang talaga nag-work. Pero happy ako sa mga achievements niya sa life ngayon,” he added.
Amid the reports about their breakup, Imperial claimed that Salas physically hurt her which caused the actress to end the relationship. Salas, however, dodged the question about it saying that he doesn’t want to dwell in controversies at the moment.
“Hindi. Actually, nung una kasi, okay naman kami, okay naman po, napag-usapan naman naming okay kami. Basta po mga about sa ganyan [intriga], ayoko na po munang anuhin [pag-usapan],” he said.
The actor added that he also just chooses to ignore the negative comments he receives online because of the allegations.
Salas also admitted that he asked his parents not to meddle with the issue anymore.
“Wala, kasi alam ko na nandiyan sila para sa akin. Sabi ko nga kung anuman ang ma-react nila, ganun talaga kasi parents ko sila, e.
“Parang tanggap ko na kung anuman ang sabihin nila, pero sabi ko, ‘Out na lang kayo sa issue. Kaya ko na ito. Wag na kayong magpa-stress,’” he said.
Salas also said that he is happy with Imperial’s rumored relationship with her “Araw Gabi” co-star JM de Guzman.
“Iyan, wala akong balita diyan. Kung sila at happy sila, e, di good luck sa kanila,” he answered when he was asked about the status of Imperial and De Guzman’s relationship.
Salas gave a message to his former girlfriend. “Ayun, happy nga ako sa mga achievements mo sa life, and sana magtuluy-tuloy ang pag-akyat ng career mo.”
