Kapamilya actor Coco Martin said that he has already called and reached out to former child star Rhed Bustamante after the latter’s story got featured on Korina Sanchez’s weekly lifestyle show, “Rated K”.
In an interview with TV Patrol, implied that an opportunity should be given to Bustamante given that she has the acting chops to make it big in the industry.
“Tinawagan ko na siya kasi sabi ko nga, hindi dahil para mag-come up lang kung sino yung mga nangangailangan. Ako kasi naniniwala ako sa oportunidad na binibigay eh, lalong lalo na yung bata kasi napaka-talented,” Martin said.
Bustamante said in Sanchez’s show that her family started to struggle financially when television and movie projects stopped coming her way, and that they have resorted to selling food by the railway in Sampaloc, Manila.
Aside from their financial struggles, Bustamante also revealed that she has a skin condition called Incontinentia Pigmenti, which is a genetic dermatological disorder affecting the skin, hair, teeth and central nervous system. The said condition can be deadly if not treated immediately.
Bustamante added that she would like to have a second shot at show business to help her family.
Before her showbiz career floundered, Bustamante appeared on several shows from 2010 until 2016. Some of her notable works include the ABS-CBN afternoon series “FlordeLiza” and the GMA-7 primetime series “Endless Love”.
She also appeared on a number of films including “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” and “Maria Leonora Teresa”.
One of her last showbiz projects was the Erik Matti horror film “Seklusyon” in 2016.
