Megastar Sharon Cuneta revealed on Instagram the true reason why she decided to no longer push through with her reunion movie with ex-husband Gabby Concepcion.
Cuneta revealed that “on-and-off negotiations” and “power-tripping” from Concepcion’s camp pushed her to officially drop out from the said project.
She vented her frustration on Instagram saying that Concepcion’s camp would play with her “schedule” and “professionalism”.
Cuneta said that she decided to agree with all of the demands of Concepcion’s camp for the sake of her movie, which her ex-husband referred to as their “legacy” to their daughter KC Concepcion.
The Megastar went on to say that she would do anything for her daughter but she could no longer deal with Concepcion’s team.
“Just for the record, I agreed to his requested billing. I really didn’t care. What I cared about was that this [movie], what he called our ‘legacy’ to KC, would be done. For her. Wala sa akin ang problema.
“They can lie and make up all the stories they want. But I was willing to do it and swallow what was left of my pride for KC. My life’s work and name will never mean more to me than KC. But I can’t do the movie when my schedule and professionalism are constantly toyed with,” Cuneta wrote.
The Megastar continued by saying that she has been offended several times due to the power-tripping of Concepcion’s team.
“I said yes to all demands na. Pero sobra naman ang power-tripping ng mga tao. Not worth it. Ilang beses na ako na-offend. Why naman will I allow it?” she added.
In a separate comment, Cuneta revealed, even though it was supposed to be confidential, that she already gave her official resignation to her Star Cinema bosses Olivia Lamasan and Malou Santos.
Lastly, Cuneta said that she has no plans to take back her decision.
“Basta ako, I can say ‘as God is my Witness’ without being afraid that God will surely punish me, kasi I’m not a liar, and I am certainly afraid of using God’s Name to validate a ‘lie!’
“Hayaan na natin. 2 decades tayo na-bless ng husto nang wala sila, isipin ba ng mga feeling na ako pa maghahabol ngayon? Why?
“My gulay, ilang beses na nalampaso ng ibang movies ko ang records ng team-up na yan sa box-office.
“Hindi ko sila kailangan. Malinaw na malinaw.” she said.
