With summer just around the corner, Anne Curtis reminded her 8.7 million followers on Instagram to be careful during their summer getaways.
Through Instagram Story last April 4, Curtiz posted on April 4 a series of photos recalling her life-threatening experience four years ago when she got stung by a box jellyfish.
Curtis was working on her television adaptation of Dyesebel in 2014 when the tentacle of a box jellyfish contacted her skin.
“About this time 4 years ago I almost lost my life to a box jellyfish,” Curtis shared on Instagram.
“I am very thankful that I got stung by only half a tentacle. So, even if I experienced all the symptoms — vomiting in a span of 1 minute, extreme pain and delirium—the venom was not enough to put me into cardiac arrest and turn into a fatal sting,” she added.

In the following photo, Curtis told her fans to be extra cautious when going to the beach this summer as dangers, like what she had experienced, are only around the corner.
“This summer, be careful in our waters. Because yes, we do have one of the world’s deadliest jellyfish in Philippine seas — the box jellyfish…
“The ocean is their home. We are merely visitors. So it is our responsibility to be careful and ask locals if we should be on the lookout for jellyfish in their waters when going for a swim,” she said.

Curtis ended her IG story by thanking the Lord for giving her a second life.
“Thank you Lord for giving me the gift of life,” she said.
