Basketball star Chris Tiu introduces new addition to his family

Basketball star and TV host Chris Tiu took to Instagram to introduce his second child, Baby Mari Diana.

“Words cannot express the overwhelming joy we are feeling right now with the arrival of this newest addition to our growing family.

“To our Almighty God who is so amazing and infinitely good, thank you for this wonderful blessing of life and love! You remind us of what truly matters in life, and that it is the simplicity of a united and nurturing family that brings us authentic happiness.

“Thank you everyone for your prayers! Say hello to Mari Diana Tiu, born Feb. 25, 2018. 7.2 lbs.,” he wrote on his Instagram account.

Tiu married investment banker Clarisse Ong in a private wedding ceremony in Vancouver, Canada in September 2013.

Their firstborn, Amanda Claire, was born in 2016.

With my beautiful wife who barely looks like she's 9 months pregnant, at the lovely wedding of our good friends Benny and Noey. Aside from being my reliable golf partner in tournaments, Benny was my classmate in Xavier and not many know that he was the one who introduced me to the UAAP in grade 7 by bringing me to my first live game between UST & DLSU (Cyrus Baguio vs RenRen Ritualo), because his father (Uncle Benito) was the manager of the Tigers, which made me aspire to play in the collegiate ranks as well! Happy that he's marrying Noey who is like a little sister to us. Congrats Benny & Noey and wishing you more ❤️❤️ – Chris, Cla and Amanda

As we celebrate Jesus' birthday with our loved ones in the warmth of our homes, let us also remember those families in Mindanao who are suffering and mourning over the loss of their properties and for some, even their loved ones from typhoon Vinta and the NCC mall tragedy in Davao. Tiu is a professional basketball player who plays for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

Another PBA season begins. Didn't expect to still be playing competitive ball until today. This is my 9th year as a pro and going on 6 years with the Rain or Shine family. (3+ years with Gilas). Always grateful to the organization and especially to the Lord to be blessed with rare opportunities, good health, great teammates and awesome fans!! Every practice, every game is for His greater glory. AMDG ?

He has also entered show business about a decade ago and is currently the host of the show IBILIB: Wonders of Horus on GMA, and 1-on-1 Tiu-torials on TV 5.
