Nina Peñalosa-Carpio, also known as Nina in the blogosphere is the author of the lifestyle blog smilelikenina.com.
She was one of the best dressed in the recently concluded FFWD season 9 and yes, she did got a lot of long stares and second looks from Filipino attendees. Why? Because she has similarities with Miss Universe Philippines 2016 Maxine Medina.
“Yes, I always get that, which is why I dyed my hair blonde,” Carpio told The Filipino Times.
Aside from blogging, she is an HR partner at a banking software company in Internet City. She describes her style as preppy and sophisticated. But she tries to stand out in fashion events by trying to do something a little edgy to kick her fashion game up a notch.
As a fashion enthusiast, Carpio finds fashion not as an option but a lifestyle.
“Fashion is important for many reasons. It’s like art. It lets me express my creativity and it shows my personal preferences. And when I’m comfortable with my clothing, it helps boost my confidence and self-esteem,” she said.
Carpio created SmileLikeNina back in 2015 as a first step to pursuing her passion for beauty, travel and fashion; since then she has garnered a solid social media following across different platforms like Youtube and Instagram.
