Most, if not all, of us remember how young love feels like. It’s colorful and sweet, evoking positive emotions that make us giddy and happy all at the same time.
But while most people would say that young love (or ‘puppy love’ as some would describe it) is just a fleeting emotion, one couple proved that this type of love can blossom throughout the years and even become a powerful force that could inspire and fuel someone’s desire to reach his or her dreams.
Couple Janica Eleria and Vande Alagao have known each other for over a decade. They were Grade 2 classmates. That time, Janica had just transferred to Precious International School of Davao, where Vande was studying.
Vande could still remember that fateful day Janica walked inside their classroom, even able to describe what Janica wore that day.
The two became friends, started to talk and become textmates in the fifth grade, and before they knew it, they have fallen in love, hook, line and sinker. They officially became a couple, months before their Grade 6 graduation.
When they entered high school, Vande transferred to Ateneo de Davao University. They admitted that they rarely saw each other during that period, as both of them got preoccupied with school work and activities.
Janica transferred to Vande’s school two years after. Once again, the two were able to attend their high school graduation rites together.
The two forged on and used their love as inspiration to finish their studies. As fate would have it, Janica and Vande finished Senior High School in Ateneo.
