A total of 4,400 violations were recorded by Dubai Police across the emirate with the help of drones.
The violations according to the authority were recorded during the first quarter of 2021. Of the said total, 518 were failure to mandatory wearing face masks, and 37 for jaywalking.
The drones also helped the Dubai Police to list 2,933 traffic violations, 128 cycling violations, 706 e-bike rule violators, and 159 on wanted cars.

Brigadier General Dr. Tariq Tahlak, Director of Naif Police Station, said the drones are also utilized to monitor individuals involved in drug dealing, helping the authorities to locate and arrest them swiftly.
He added that it also led to success in apprehending fraudsters and other criminals.
The drones were used for a first-of-its-kind project in Naif which taps the technology to augment on street security and catch offenders in an innovative way.

Drones are being used in various police operations due to their high technology which enables them to face recognition as well as aerial surveillance.
