The total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Bahrain has reached to 26, its health ministry announced on Thursday.
The Kingdom’s Ministry of Health reported three new cases on February 26—three women who recently arrived at Bahrain International Airport via non-direct flight from Iran.

Authorities already imposed a travel ban on Iran on February 24, and suspended classes for two weeks to prevent the spread of the virus.
The Ministry added that infected patients have been transferred to the Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo Community Medical Center in Al Salmaniya for isolation and treatment.
Meanwhile, all individuals who had close contact with the infected patients were already traced and placed under quarantine as preventive measures.
Health Ministry announced that all residents and citizens who recently traveled in Iran will undergo confirmatory tests in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19.
“The Ministry of Health will arrange medical exams for all citizens and residents that have visited Iran, during February, to prevent the spread of the virus, calling on all returning citizens and residents to self-isolate, call 444 and follow the instructions given by the medical team, and avoid interacting with others ahead of their medical examinations,” the ministry said in a statement.
