Beauty queen and actress and former Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez believes that her daughter Michelle Dee can bring home the crown in this year’s Miss World.
The fashion icon and actress turned beauty queen already earned her Top 40 spot in the beauty pageant.
“I would like to thank everybody sa pagboto ninyo at sa pagdadasal, kailangan na kailangan po ng anak ko iyon,” Melanie said in a statement.
Melanie believes that her daughter will have a big shot in the Miss World pageant and bring home the country’s second crown.
“Well, of course as a mother, I always think positive. I always think the best of my child na makukuha niya ang korona. Pero you know, lahat naman tayo may sariling destiny,” Melanie told GMA News.
The beauty queen, however, said that everything happens for a reason.
“Whatever comes, it all happens for a reason. And I do believe that God does bless people who have a kind heart,” she added.
The Miss World 2019 coronation night will take place in London (10:20PM) Manila time.
Megan Young was the first Filipina to win the Miss World crown in 2013.
