Honest jeepney driver, passenger return Php 400K to OFW owner

Baguio City— A jeepney driver and his passenger did not hesitate to return the money amounting to more than Php400,000 found in the vehicle left by an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW).

Erwil Agyapas, the passenger saw a bundle of U.S. dollars worth Php421,791 while he was inside the jeep of Jimmer Denson.

Agyapas informed Denson and both of them decided to go to Tublay, Benguet municipal police station to report the matter.

Agyapas said it was not the first time he had returned money to its rightful owner.

The owner of the money, an OFW, was very happy and grateful that his money was returned.

The Municipaal Mayor of Tublay, Armand Lauro commended the honest act of Agyapas and Denson. The two will also be recognized in November during the town’s founding anniversary.

Lauro likewise offered a small amount of incentive to Agyapas and Denson as a token of their honest act.

“With what you did, it made me believe that there are indeed people like you who return money without second thoughts. This is a good reflection for our constituents that there are still good and honest people in this world, worthy to be emulated,” Lauro told the jeepney passenger and driver. (Photo: Daily Tribune)
