LOOK: Leaked iPhone XI image features triple camera set up

Just a few months following the release of their iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR, iPhone and Apple fans have already been searching for their release slated at the last quarter of 2019. And their search was not in vain as leaks of the latest iPhone show that it will finally be introducing triple cameras on its system.

A leak posted on Twitter by Steve Hemmerstoffer (@onleaks) reveals that the next iPhone XI Max ois planning to have an asymmetrical camera design. @onleaks has been one of the trusted industry insiders on technology with his exceptional track record – and if the leaks were true, this will be a huge change on the look of your usual iPhone.

Time of Flight

An earlier leak from Bloomberg connects with Hemmerstoffer’s partner site digit.in in stating that Apple has already begun to work on incorporating long distance Time of Flight (ToF) technology. Initially showcased by ToF module creator Sony, ToF will add a feature that allows next-generation iPhones to create detailed 3D maps of anything within five metres. The repercussions for security, gaming and augmented reality applications could be game-changing.

More changes to come

With all the leaks available, Hemmerstoffer stresses that everything is still up in the air as the iPhone XI is currently at the Engineering Validation Test (EVT) stage.

This just means that all designs on the leaks aren’t final. However, another popular and equally accurate industry insider named Ice Universe validated the leak, so the information looks rock solid.

Regardless of the final design, incorporating the long distance ToF as a feature within the 2019 iPhone looks essential together with giving the iPhone XI a truly game-changing camera to catapult Apple’s ongoing success.
