Filipinos seeking employment in the country are considering more long-term gains over short-term offerings as the most important factor when looking for a job, according to the latest Top Companies survey released by Jobstreet on Friday, August 25.

The online job site asked Filipino jobseekers from fresh graduates to junior executives their primary consideration in choosing to work at a company.
This year, Filipinos are now more interested in job security rather than competitive salaries and benefits.
“Professional Filipinos are more interested in the long-term gains, as factors that directly affect their professional lives such as career growth offerings, job security, career-enhancing training and development opportunities, and a strong leadership team that can mentor them in their professional trajectory,” the survey said.
On Tuesday, August 29, Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) included the security of tenure bill or the end to contractualization in the list of priority measures of the Duterte administration.
Electric distribution company Meralco emerged as the top company Filipinos want to work for. Others included in the top companies list are as follows:
- Meralco
- San Miguel Corporation
- Google Philippines
- Nestle Philippines
- Accenture in the Philippines
- BDO Unibank
- Procter and Gamble Philippines
- ABS-CBN Corp.
- PLDT Inc.
- Unilever Philippines
A total of 3,658 respondents participated in the survey conducted in May 2017.
