Dubai Municipality has launched an initiative that will shield the people from the summer heat.
As part of the Year of Giving, 1,000 umbrellas were distributed in metro stations, parks, and beaches in Dubai to protect people from the scorching heat of the sun.
The initiative is said to benefit people whose work requires heavy exposure to the sun, said Khalid Mohammed Badri, Director of Corporate Marketing and Relations Department.
“The corporate social responsibility concept stems from the efforts of institutions and companies in different sectors of business to balance their profitable and non-profitable activities, which benefit the community, through the adoption of charitable campaigns and voluntary and humanitarian and initiatives,” Khaleej Times quoted Badri as saying.
The high quality umbrellas will continue to be distributed in selected areas in Dubai where passers-by can easily use them.
