The fighting between government forces and Maute militants in Marawi City enters its first month Thursday.
Exchanges of automatic weapons fire and explosions were heard in the city. Thick smoke rising from an airstrike target was also observed Thursday.
There was no report of casualty in the day’s fighting, so far, according to Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera, spokesperson of the Army’s 1st Infantry Division,
The death toll from the fighting that started on May 23 is now 66 soldiers with another 400 soldiers wounded.
