Bahrain’s First High Criminal Court has sentenced a 20-year-old local to three years of imprisonment for attempting to steal a smartphone from a store worker, The Daily Tribune News of Bahrain reported.
According to court files, the man went to a machinery store in Muharraq Governate and pretended to sell his bicycle. When the shopkeeper refused to buy it, the suspect aggressively insisted and refused to go.

The worker, investigations said, then went out to call the cops, with his phone left inside the shop. When he was at the doorstep of the store, about to enter, he saw the suspect snatching his phone—not aware that the shopkeeper was standing behind him.
The shopkeeper then grabbed him by the shirt to get his phone back, and he said that was when the suspect punched him twice. The civilian police patrol saw them and immediately arrested the man.
