Abu Dhabi police announced on Monday, that it will activate the automatic smart system and stationary radars to monitor motorists who fail to leave a safe distance between themselves and other vehicles.
Authorities added it can detect violators with the help of a smart system and radars installed across roads in Abu Dhabi.
The system will become operational on January 15, 2020, Abu Dhabi police said in a statement.
Police also noted that it will start sending text messages to warn errant drivers who aren’t leaving sufficient space between vehicles.
Abu Dhabi Police added that it will roll out an awareness and traffic monitoring campaign to curb this negative behavior.
Violators will be slapped with Dh400 fine and four black points.
